Into the Blue Yonder
In scientific terms, a reflection is the change in direction of a wave front at an interface between two different media so that the wave front returns into the medium from which it originated. In photography, reflected light can be used to create depth, symmetry and atmosphere to a scene – especially with waterscapes. This photograph shows the salt lakes of the Rio Lagartos in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, with fluffy white clouds and blue sky reflecting in the shallow, faintly rippling water.
