Jurassic Park

In a time before drones, aerial photography was a novel and wondrous genre. Its undoubted master was Yann Arthus-Bertrand, whose seminal work Earth From Above: 365 Days (2001 Ed.) captured my teenage imagination. Specifically, his photograph of the remote gorges of the Bras de Caverne river, deep in the Cirque de Salazie on the Indian Ocean island of Réunion, is a masterpiece – an image evoking Jurassic Park. This is my clumsy homage to that image, taken at ground level amidst the giant ferns.
