Claws

The term abstract in the context of art means relating to or denoting art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but rather seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, colours, and textures. Kandinsky, Rothko and Pollock are some of the masters of this 20th century development in ‘modern’ art. This photograph is not art, but it is abstract. The cool blue tones and curves of the iceberg in the glacial lagoon at Jökulsárlón in Iceland are reminiscent to me of sharp, grasping claws.
