Vitaleta Dawn
A popular and beautiful spot on the way from San Quirico d’Orcia to Pienza in southern Tuscany, Italy, is the Cappella della Madonna di Vitaleta. Built in 1590, the chapel was redesigned in the renaissance style by architect Giuseppe Partini in 1884. This shot is from a field by the road, but there is a lovely walk via the chapel to Pienza. The aesthetics of the architecture and sculptured countryside are best admired in spring, where the greens and golds and yellows are the colours of the dawn.
