World’s End

In the far east of France, in Upper Savoy, lies the beautiful village of Sixt Fer-à-Cheval. Up in the high Alps, Le Giffre river flows down the valley from the top of the horseshoe cirque and through the village. This photo is taken from the start of the river, at the end of the trail known as Le Bout du Monde or World’s End, reached amidst lush greens and snowmelt waterfalls. Early summer is a magical time to be in the Alps.
