The Singapore Soul

Jaume Plensa’s modern art installation sits serenely amidst the passing traffic in Singapore’s De Souza Street. The sculpture of a crouched figure comprises of a mix of letters and characters of Singapore’s national languages of Malay, Tamil, Chinese and English. Erected in 2011, the Singapore Soul represents the Lion City’s multicultural demographic; four languages for the four main cultures in the Little Red Dot.
