Taste the Rainbow
Donkeys are a common sight in Peru’s sacred valley, near Cusco. However, it wasn’t always like this. South America’s domestic animals were camelids (llamas, alpacas etc.), and the arrival of equids only came with the Spanish in the 1500s, when horses were used in warfare against the Incas. Donkeys became prized for their load-bearing capacity and have been popular ever since. This donkey, as it chews the grass in front of the rainbow, reminds me of the Skittles advert; taste the rainbow.
