The Dark Hedges

The Dark Hedges, known locally as the Bregagh Road, lie off the Antrim coast in Northern Ireland, UK. The avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family in the 18th century as an aesthetic approach to their home at Gracehill House. Their fame emanates, however, from HBO’s Game of Thrones, where the site was used as the King’s Road, showing Arya Stark’s escape from King’s Landing. The road is stunning, but overcrowded and in need of preservation and proper management.
