Whitehaven (after Dalí)

This abstract landscape photograph features driftwood on Whitehaven Beach, an idyllic stretch of pure white sand which runs down the east coast of Whitsunday Island in Queensland, Australia. The beach was named so in 1879 by Staff Commander EP Bedwell, but had long since been settled by the seafaring Ngaro Aborigines. The driftwood is, I think, reminiscent of a Salvador Dalí sculpture and lends a surreal quality to the scene.
