Xakanaxa

Minimalism is a form of expression in photography and other artistic mediums which seeks to present a subject stripped down via the elimination of all non-essential elements, features and concepts. In pure art terms, minimalism developed in the USA in the 1950s as a reaction to the energetic gesturalism of the previous generation. The idea is that less is more. This photograph, taken at the Xakanaxa Lagoon in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, features six reflected reeds in the water – and nothing more.
