Colours of Copenhagen
In the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark’s stylish capital, lies the Nyhavn or New Harbour. The harbour was constructed by King Christian V in the 1670s and became a notorious sailors’ haunt. The colourful houses and wharves, one once home to Hans Christian Andersen, are now a celebrated tourist attraction - but remain a favoured spot with the locals, who come to spend long summer nights eating and drinking. The scene at dawn on a clear and calm July morning, however, is much more tranquil.
