Temple of Dawn at Sunset
The Buddhist temple of Wat Arun in Thailand's capital, Bangkok, has existed in multifarious forms over the centuries. Its current incarnation sits on western bank of the Chao Phraya river, having been moved by Rama I. However, a temple had existed on the site since the days of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Whilst the name means “Temple of Dawn”, this photograph features the pagodas or prangs silhouetted in the setting sun, just as the last visitor descends the steep steps to the exit.
