The Burning Bush

Dawn amidst the giant sand dunes of the southern Namib Desert produces an array of different coloured hues and tones. This photograph shows a glowing red dune adjacent to the Sossusvlei clay pan in Namibia’s Namib-Naukfluft National Park. At this moment the light has fallen on the golden clump of grass; the vegetation is coruscating, iridescent and, perhaps, redolent of Moses’ burning bush in the Book of Exodus. Ardens sed virens ("burning but flourishing").
