Boschendal

Boschendal is one of South Africa’s oldest wine estates. Located near Franschhoek in the Western Cape, the estate dates back to the 1680s when the VOC granted land concessions to French Huguenot refugees who were fleeing religious persecution in Europe. The land had previously been inhabited by the nomadic Khoisan, who were displaced by European colonisation of the Drakenstein Valley. The distinctive Cape Dutch architecture of the Manor House and manicured avenue provide a peaceful aesthetic.
