The Great Herdsman of Etive | Skyfall

In 1891, Sir Hugh Munro published his first table of mountains in Scotland with a height of over 3000 feet. This soon became the definitive – and eponymous – list, the custodian of which is the Scottish Mountaineering Club. “Munro bagging” is now a rite of passage for enthusiast hikers and climbers. One of the most famous Munros is the Stob Dearg (1021.4 m) atop the Buachaille Etive Mòr (Lit: The Great Herdsman of Etive), a pyramidal peak which looks over the desolate glens and rivers of Coe and Etive. These photographs show two of the famous spots by the Buachaille: the waterfall and the winding road made famous by James Bond in Skyfall.
