Largo da Pena Ventosa

The neighbourhoods of Sé and Ribeira, in the Portuguese city of Porto, are dotted with narrow, cobbled streets and squares. They form part of the historic centre of Oporto recognised by UNESCO in 1996 as an outstanding urban landscape. This image features the quaint square known as Largo da Pena Ventosa (the translation for which utterly escapes me – something to do with windy feathers). Its brightly coloured houses, trendy cafes and craft shops make it a delight to visit – and to photograph.
