Huts
Some huts are more famous than others. In the UK, the most famous hut (apart from Pizza Hut) is probably that of former prime minister David Cameron, who spent £25k on a “shepherd’s hut” in 2017, drawing widespread opprobrium for his perceived extravagance. In Norway, where minimalist design meets practicality, that sort of sum wouldn’t get you much hut at all – and that sort of hut wouldn’t get you any fame. It is the colourful, triangular-framed cabins of the Lofoten Islands which have become icons of this beautiful archipelago in the far flung north of Norway. These photographs show two of the most famous Lofoten huts: The old red hut at Rambergstranda and the new yellow hut at Sakrisøy.
