Girl with a Dolphin

David Wynne’s statue ‘Girl with a Dolphin’ has graced the north bank of London’s River Thames since 1973. Wynne produced a companion statue ‘Boy with a Dolphin’ in 1975, which lies further up the river at Cheyne Walk (by Albert Bridge). This photograph, taken in the blue hour on a day when London’s sky had turned red with Sahara dust, shows the fountain against the backdrop of London’s iconic Tower Bridge. The girl and her dolphin remain serenely frozen amidst the spray, wind and visitors.
